I forgot to mention, if you can see the cyno what do you think is causing it. It only appears on the front sand.
 
Very nice!!! You have some very healthy looking fish!!! For your cyano problem there is actually a post on this a few below yours on the forum front page.
 
Man we need to get you some coral for that tank. :D I see you are from Waterloo thats cool. Its kind of hard to find any good coral around the pet stores here.

You just missed out on the QC frag swap it was a blast.
 
Your right! It is hard to find corals around here. The pet stores are not the greatest. I'm a little leary about my water parameters...I just installed a Ca Reactor and I can't tell if it is doing its job or not. I measure often but I hasn't changed since i set the unit up. I have a Xenia that does not look that good so I'm wondering if there is more that I need to be doing.
 
Cyano is a sign of a chronic low alkalinity or calcium imbalance. Check your ALK, CA, and Magnesium levels.
 
Cyano typically does not like good water flow...try putting some flow in that area along with adjusting your husbandry as suggested below.

Nice bannerfish. I haven't seen too many of those in people's tanks.

I wish I could give you some good advice about cyano but I have it as well. I don't think flow plays a big as part as people think. I have cyano on a rock with a powerhead directed right at it and you can see the cyano flapping back and forth in the current but it sure doesn't leave.

I think it is a nutrient issue. I am trying to increase the amount of skimmate I get per day.

I have an RO/DI unit set up in my basement that I use for top off water and water changes.

Are most of you buying your corals and whatnot on-line. I have been using Marinedepot.com. It takes 5 business days exactly to get here 7 counting the weekends. How long does it take from other sites like F &S for example.

But be careful not to "push" it down into the bed during vacuuming (IE: Burying it under the crushed coral)

I did that once by accident - UGH! - took months to finally get it cleared up!
 
Usually F&S is about 2 days

I usually buy most my corals from club members. Its cheaper & they wont rip you off. Fish comes from Live Aquaria.
 
Wow. I'm going to try them on my next order. Two day would be fast. Buy the time my order gets here from marine depot it like I'm a little kid waiting for xmas to come.
 
Very nice tank and rockwork. You've done a really nice job arranging that rock, it couldn't have been easy! All of the suggestion given by others as far as they cyano are good ones. Another thing I might add is this. I have had spots of cyano off and on but never on the sand. My diamond spotted goby cleans my sand ALL day long. He is a pain sometimes because I can't have frags on the sand very easy but he sure keeps a clean house!!
 
Madjabjoe, do you have a p04 reactor? I'd employ one. I use the pura complete and my sand is white as can be. Also would recommend a nice orange spotted diamond goby. Those little guys will keep you sand sparkling clean! Good luck. Nice looking tank.
