took this at the atlanta zoo. I used a kit lens without a flash. I thought the reflection and contrast of the flamingo color was a nice contrast.

Thanks and again suggestions and helpfull hints are needed and welcome

Way to go, nice shots. I too am new at the photography thing, so I appreciate the whole learning how to thing. FYI MyraKo has a DVD set that she sells to show you, in layman terms, how to start shooting "outside the green box" Google it, well worth the money. And again, nice shots.

thanks raen. I will google for sure. I appreciate the comments.
Thanks to you too TitusvileSurfer. The hockey photos are the most difficult. I was fairly happy but lots of room for improvement

wooottt- that last colony is spectacular!!! did you grow it out yourself? or was it already a pretty large frag?

my critique: seems like the first few shots had a pretty dominant blue cast (usually from actinics). This can be fixed in PShop or other editing programs - using tools such as color balance - if you are shooting in raw then its cake to adjust.

Appreciate you sharing your pics!

thanks Klepto. I appreciate your feedback. I shot these with jpg fine but can shoot in the raw. I have the ability to shoot and save in the raw and jpg at the same time so i think i will do this and then play around. I use apeture for my mac which is a decent editing program. I bought the acans about that size from my local lfs. got lucky that they got them in. thanks for the input
