Just placed an order...

I just realized that I forgot to add that I have a store credit that I would like to put toward it. I think the credit is only $13.95 or something around that, but I need it used.

Order number A2599391.

I would also like to request (again) that my order has extra heat packs added because the weather is supposed to be bad when the package is to be delivered. I'm afraid it will be delayed, and I don't want it to get too cold. Thank you. :)

Anne,

Thank you for your post and recent order with Live Aquaria. We found that you had a credit on file in the amount $13.47. We have applied this credit to this order per your request. The new charge to your credit card will be in the amount of $90.45.

We watch the weather very closely every night to determine which states may need heat or ice. We have checked the overnight forecast for Pennsylvania, and will be adding heat packs as necessary. In case of a delay we do recommend that you double the acclimation time to decrease any stress that shipping may have caused the specimens in your order.

They arrived about 25 minutes ago. The corydoras are looking great, and I'm acclimating the toadstool and feather duster now. The temperature was perfect. Thank you for another great order! :)

reef3r,

Thank you for letting us know that your order arrived in good condition and at the appropriate temperature. We are happy to hear that all of your new arrivals are acclimating to their new home! If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us!

I've got some bad news... the feather duster dropped it's feathers.. all in one group. I've never had a feather duster before, but I'm assuming it's bad.

When I put it in the tank, it would open it's crown and stay open, but it never really expanded, like in the pictures. It would just flow in the current. I placed it in an area with relatively low flow, and it kept squirming around. The tube wasn't hard at all.. Like I said, I've never had a feather duster before so I'm not sure if it was healthy when it arrived or not. Will the feathers grow back?

tested today:
ammonia. 0
nitrite. 0
nitrate. 10
ph. 8.1
sg. 1.026

On the other hand, all of the cories look good. :)

The regular common feather dusters do not have hard tubes and they usually drop their crowns whenever there is a noticeable change in salinity (like going from LA's holding tanks to your tank). It will regrow over time and is nothing to worry about. If you see the actual worm out of it's tube then that's a problem.

Erm... how far out? I just checked with a red flashilight, it was out about 2.5 inches but retreated to about 1 inch when it was the light....

:(

Oh jeez... it looks like the worm was only 3 inches long... now it fell out of the tube. Should I just remove it all now? Is there any chance of it building a new tube, or returning to the old one?

reef3r,

We apologize for the death of your Feather Duster. Typically when a feather duster dies, it will protrude out of the tube and will lay limp. We do recommend removing it from the aquarium at this time. We have placed a credit on file for the cost of this specimen. Please feel free to contact us at 1-800-334-3699 if you would like to discuss your credit or have it refunded to your credit card.

Oh yea sorry didn't repond. Yea like 95% when the feather duster comes out of it's tube it will die but sometimes in a system with a LOT of detritus it will be able to get better and rebuild it's tube.
