Hey justin did you lose your Pacific Blue Tang, I didn't see him in any of your pictures?I have this fish book and there is a picture of your little lion but it says that it is a Shortfin Lionfish and that the yellow ones are very rare-nice find!

Your tank is amazing!!!

Question: Looks like you're using a short sand bed. What type of maintenance do you do for the sand? How have your phosphates been?

Justin, after looking at your tank, I've realized that there are 3 things that I can't live without. Good food, good sex (sorry if I've offended anyone, but I'm just being honest!!!), and good fishtanks. Pictures of your tank even more confirms how beautiful a tank can be.

Your tank has everything that I want!!! Well some of the things. I absolutely love clowns and anenomes. Love your rbta. Your clam is crazy!!!! What type of clam is it?? sorry, if you've already posted it.

My nano, I've managed to keep a rbta with a mated pair of ocellaris. They're on their 4th batch of eggs!!!! I'm going to start collecting and raising them, soon (actualy, my brother's going to raise the babies!!). Absolutely, wonderful to watch them host and their relationship with each other. It's truly like watching parenthood in the wild. My orchid dotty has gotten very aggressive in the past couple of months. However, ever since my clowns have started mating, my dotty knows better than to mess with a couple of mated clowns!!!!!

I've also got a baby electric blue stripe maxima. Have some sps (tricolor, blue/green tort, just got into monti's->original superman, rainbow, generic brown/maroon).

I'll post pics. Man your tank is amazing. My little puddle of water needs to be upgraded!!!

Here's my maxima (only 2 months and it's probably grown maybe 1/6 to 1/4 of an inch!!)

Here's my rbta and clowns in the cave below (they just got down making woopie, so the male had a look outside of the cave)

Hey Justin,

you're 2 yello tangs don't fight each other?

Also, your trigger doesn't eat any of your hermits??

What about your lionfish eating any of your other fish??

Sorry for the silly questions, but I love both of them, but worry about them causing havoc in my future tank.

Once again, amazing pics.

Thanks!1

lol dude i know what u mean i would place things in that order too about whats important in life!

thanks again im glad u like the animals in my tank ive been trying to get a nice variety of things in there instead of just sps or lps i wanted something of everything!

your tanks lookin awesome for such a small setup! u have some nice hard to find pieces and it all looks very healthy/colorful/ and grown in! those montis are killer! i wanna get me some montis one of these days! just hard to wanna pay such high prices u know?

i dont think a SWF tank is complete without an anemone and some clown/s it makes it IMO!

the clam is a squamosa and its such a fast grower!

my buddies clowns just started mating after 3 years together he has a 180 also .... that would be cool if u could raise the fry up and sell them off

as far as the yellow tangs go they dont fight anymore they did at first for a lil but now they are friends and troll around the tank together lookin for stuff

the trigger is feed well so he leaves hermits alone but i only have about 15 hermits as it is....

the lionfish has eaten 2 small fish in the past but now i feed him seperately and alot more since then he hasnt touched a fish! however i did throw in some peppermint shrimps to try to get some aptasia but he made quick lunch of those guys!

well i hope that kinda answered some things....

ill post some more pics later once again thanks for all the kind remarks!

do you keep any cleaner shrimp??

I have a pinktail trigger in my reef tank and he hasn't gone after any skunk cleaner shrimp yet.... I think I saw him investigate a peppermint once though.

Also, how much/how often do you feed the triggerfish? I find that no matter how much food I put in he will gobble it up... so I don't want to starve it (and make it eat my inverts) or overfeed it. My pinktail also eats the seaweed sheets i put in for the tangs =\

no i dont have any cleaner shrimps after the last one died a while back i havent bothered cuz i think my lion would eat it if the trigger didnt

i feed all my fish everyday and my trigger extra every other day which is sometimes a raw shrimp/ formula 1/ and yes even Nori lol dried seaweed! it is kinda funny how he eats it up super fast thought!

My tank is infested with ich but recently even the trigger has been going to the shrimp, lying on his side and being cleaned :)

I am moving in April and still trying to decide whether or not to keep the triggerfish. It's really fun to watch him eat... I give him raw shrimp pieces occassionally and he crunches it and then burps out a mist... very funny :)
