Just to Re-iterate...Dip and/or QT all livestock

So I havent posted much lately (not that I have been a big time poster in the past) but thought I'd re-iterate to folks who think its silly to dip or QT EVERYTHING. All coral is alive but not much PE and I have made a dent in the red bugs. I have been dealing with them for a while. They were not crazy at first but THESE THINGS MULTIPLY QUICK. My strategy was to pull them and dip then re-introduce to the tank on a magnetic frag rack and that has helped but I think this will be a several month process or treat the whole tank which I'm not completely sold on yet.

This is more to re-iterate to everyone and save yourself the hassle. No matter where your coral comes from DIP IT or QT IT! Literally everything I have was bought from the most reputable suppliers online so if you think the pests can't come from them....UNTRUE pests can show up from anyone. All it takes is one time not to dip or QT.

I agree.

But why not use interceptor for red bugs? Just 3 treatments and done.

AEFW is a whole different story though ...

I would ad. Dips won't cut it as they don't kill eggs and some just live through it. Get a QT system. I've dipped everything and now paying the price. I have RB and AEFW.
Good luck.

Would acro crabs help with red bugs and AEFW, or once you have seen it, is it too much? *knock on wood* I have not run into an issue with them with my dips, and most of what I get is from locals, but I was just curious if an acro crab would help

All frags that I have are tiny....less than two inches. I've dipped and inspected and have not seen AEFW but red bugs are getting the best of me right now. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I can clean them out.

Which dip are you using?
I think the Bayer wiped out my redbugs. But I have done multiple dips.

So after some research and subprime results it appears Coral Rx is not very effective on red bugs. I have noticed less but now I'm going to the Bayer dip.

Thanks for the suggestion all.

I wasn't going to say it because I wasn't sure but...

I suspected CoralRX didn't kill redbugs for me. After starting the bayer dips I can't find any red bugs. I bought the interceptor but so far haven't had to use it. They could still be in the tank but I will just wait and see because I don't feel like pulling all my crabs and shrimps.
Also I did notice on the bottle Coral RX doesn't claim to kill red bugs.
