? k1/2 kalk capacity?

So I read the instructions and realize there is a chart for kalk to water based on evap. I'm interested in knowing how much kalk can you effectively load at one time into the two different stirrers? I'm trying to figure out how long I can go between fill ups on the kalk end. I go through approx 5gal a week on my tank. So I'd love to be able to load enough kalk to get through a a few weeks at a time without touching anything.

Here's a link to the instruction manual, which at the end contains the "Kalk Calc" which should be able to help with your question. The answer is that it is dependent on how strong you want your kalkwasser and how much the "freshness" of the kalk matters to you. Personally I change kalk once a month but it will serve you better to change it out more often.

Also as an aside, what size tank is this stirrer going to be put on? The K1 stirrer can handle a 250 gallon tank with ease, and it has a smaller footprint and to boot it is cheaper than the K2.

Ya, I understood the kalk calculator, but how much kalk can be effectively loaded into the stirrers at one time? Water is saturated at 2TBSP per gallon so 1 cup(16TBSP) of kalk is good for 8 gallons of water. Can the stirrers handle 2-3 cups or more at once? That's what I'm trying to figure out

4 cups for k1 and 8 cups k2 is the max suggested. So a k1 seems appropriate for your system.
