Kalk and Alkalinity

Does kalkwasser raise alkalinity as well as calcium, or just calcium? Tried to find a good write up about kalk and water chemistry, but what I found was lacking. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Kalk is a balanced additive, but with my cacium and alk demand I have to use a ca rx to keep up....
