Kalk reactor installed

Well, my kalk reactor is now completed and installed. It works like a champ. One thing I have found, you can not use the nylon bolts and wing nuts from lowes, they stretch and will break if you tighten them too much (Yes Chris I still need to get by to pick up the nuts and bolts you have), I did get them to work temporarily.
Another thing I found was when you drill the holes in the main tube, use water to cool and lubricate while drilling. I just ran the hose real slow while drilling both holes.

Couple of things I did, on the inlet side (water in) I got a piece of 5/16 rigid tubing, I drilled out the inlet with a 5/16 drill and added the tub so that the water going in goes all the way to the bottom.
I also added a 6 inch piece of 3/4" PVC to the inlet side which I think you can see in the final pic.

Here are some picks:

Here is the final pic... yes I know there are lots of wires behind my tank:

Get this, the pump (mag 2) cost more then the entire build.

im glad to hear you got it sealed up.after you pmed me i pmed a few othr people to have them test as well.so is it totally hooked up and running for good?

It is hooked up and running, I do still want to change out the bolts, not real comfortable with the ones that I am using now. I like being able to see the media, I can see that all the excess lime has settled to the bottom, this will give me a good gauge on how fast I will go through it.

Here is something else I have found since topping off with kalk:
pH 8.0 to 8.4
When pH hits 8.4 calcium reactor comes on (shuran)
Calcium 420
Alk 9 dHk
Mag 1350 (have to dose once a month)
Algae (red turf) is going away YES....

yeah the clear makes it nice for visual inspection.i do have the bolts and washers but ran out of nuts.i promise you if you ge these pvc bolts and washers from me then get 3/8"-16 nylon nuts it will seal fine.the problem with the 1/4" is that they have 20 tpi.thats a fine thread,a 3/8" has 16 tpi so less chance of slipping threads.
