Kalk Reactor Intermittent Dosing Solution for low ph?

I hooked up a two fishes kalk reactor to apex controller. The reservoir is RO water 5 gallon bucket. The pump runs for 1 minute and stays off for 45 minutes. It seems to be the only thing that keeps my pH up. My pH wants to stay at 7.7-7.8 without the reactor in place.

I tested the pH of newly made saltwater using Oceanic mix, the pH is no where near 8.2-8.4 that is desired for most reef systems. I looked at the various threads regarding low pH, and the solutions.

Is this a viable option to dose kalk intermittently? My total system volume:

25 gallon refugium
50-60 gallon sump
55 gallon rimless

So a total of 125 gallons, the volume dosed is probably .5 gallons every 45 minutes. I'm also dosing 2 part, magnesium, strontium, vitamins and trace minerals.

7.8 isn't that bad, and is common for tanks in houses with the windows shut. I wouldn't worry all that much. If you want to dose Kalk, I'd suggest dosing it with a peristaltic pump as auto-topoff. That'll help keep the pH a bit higher without inducing any extra osmotic shock.
