Hello all I want to start dosing kalkwasser to my display i run a vertex calcium reactor. But I want that added stability so i im going to use the toms aq aqualifter pump with a digital timer now where im stuck is what length do i set the timer to as far as on and off settings and how long to have the pump on. Do i need to shut off the reactor while the dosing is going on after the lights go out or can i leave it on Thank you.

A question first to help us help you out....

What is the total water volume and load of sps you are going to dose for? You need to know this so you can figure out how much kalk to dose.

Many people dose Kalk in their top off water or use a timer and dose it for the amount of time needed to match needs for tank(water and sps load).

Dosing Kalk will raise your ph, so its best if you dose it, to do so after the lights go out and during the night. IMO, there is no need to shut off your calcium reactor during that time at all.

Thanks, Steve
