What is kalkwasser exactly used for. Many people just use it to maintain calcium and alkalinity. Ive also seen people who mix saltwater for their tanks they add kalkwasser to it and everytime they do a water change they will have this in the water they're adding. What are the uses for it and should I start adding this to my saltwater?

kalkwasser is calcium hydroxide (a base), so I believe it would raise your pH as well. Don't add too much at once.

Kalkwasser is basically pickling lime added to ro/di water for your top off water. You don't mix it into saltwater. It helps to keep your calcium and alkalinity in check but you have to test to make sure your magnesium level stays good for it to work appropriately.
