Kalkwasser

I am a little nervous about using kalk on my nuvo. The reason is simply ato failure resulting in a tank death. As well as possibly killing my ato pump all together. I use the Tunze osmolater nano. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Austin

Well... do you really need to be dosing kalk?
Is your consumption enough and water change schedule infrequent enough now?

What about 2 part instead?

An ATO failure could/would also cause an overflow and salinity issues so whats one more nail in the coffin..

I think you might be overthinking this a bit. Lots of people use Kalkwasser in their ATO reservoir and don't seem to have any problems. Let me ask you this, do you have a GFCI? Also, are you turning everything off before you put your hands in the water? I'd be more concerned about getting electrocuted than an ATO failure. Your playing for keeps now. Just something to think about.

I wouldn't be too worried about it just start your dose small and work up to your needs. I wouldn't use too big of a ato container, My water line gets a little clogged with kalk after awhile, but I just blow through it to clear it up. If you really dont want to put in in your ato get a kalkwasser reactor/

Used kalk for years with no issues and had great results from it. Give it a shot I used a stirrer that ran online with my ato.
