Katie's CAD Lights 34g Nano

Update: So I did't get a pump for my ATO for ages. I got a little pump and then it wasn't working right with how I wanted it plumbed, so I finally got a little aqualifter. For those of you considering this, it does NOT lift from the bottom of the cabinent up to the tank. But it will from a stool, so for now this will work and its easy.

The difference? Overnight, it is way different. My skimmer is going crazy its working so well. Should have done this ages ago. I'm making some changes to my filtration soon, hopefully with the new InTank media basket they're going to release.... any day....

If you haven't gotten an ATO for your cadlights and are frustrated with your skimmer, get one. Night and day.
 
The tank looks amazing!

I set up a CAD 34 just a month ago and I love it. How do you like the skimmer? I have an aquamaxx HOB now but it's not pulling anything. I'm thinking of getting the CAD PLS-50

Those elegance corals you have look amazing. I've never had any luck with them.
 
Thank you! I like it! It is really really touchy to get it to pull skim well, but when it's set right it does a great job. If you don't have an ATO, it'll be working at like 50% functionality. If you have an ATO, totally worth it. It functions like the beast skimmer I had on my 125.

I guess i don't know this because i don't own one *yet*, but what is wrong with the intake section? what problem is the InTank media basket solving?
Also how is the pipefish doing? looks amazing
 
Thanks guys! The pipefish is doing great, he is fat but I don't what ha the is eating. I can't believe he hasn't destroyed my pod population yet. He scoots around hunting style when I feed but I've never seen him strike at anything. Still fat though, so I guess the pods are going strong. He is super not timid, he basically only runs from my hand if I touch him. He's out in the open to see all the time.
 
I feel like I am the only chick reefer around here, most of the shops know me pretty well. But I get good discounts :) so that's all I really care about. Perks for being a girl!

Oh no! I dread a power outage, I should definitely invest in some kind of back up to at least run the pump or mp10.

I've had some ups and downs with the elegance coral. The two newer ones didn't make it, I found flatworms of some kind of on one and not soon enough to save it, the other...? Who knows. The original is going strong and the Wyoming white likes to think he is hosting it (he nuzzles it sporadically and sleeps on it). The other clown steals food from it like the jerk she is.

I like this size, it's reasonable for me to manage and I can actually carry my water change jug :)
