Kat's 120g Build Thread

if i had gone with the bigger one? not. but i went with the smaller one...hubby actually got the idea to google up the company...and found out it is the same one that makes parts out of the same material for his company SPX that makes huge mixers...including ones that mix vats and vats of dough for cookies, bread...etc. so one phone call to the vendor...and we had our information.

you can usually smell that stuff. i stuck my head in there at walmart (really, really), but couldn't smell it on the small one. the large one, different company, you could smell it...smelled like oil. So, the cheaper, smaller version...great for sump...lousy for trucks. so if you have a truck. don't buy the smart bin. unless you plan on transporting loaves of bread.

Jeff? i shudder to ask...how is T...imm...y.

we have lift off! Mel - all plumbing is A OK. seams on tank look good so far. bulkheads holding...pump is amazing...awesome flow just with the return.

Suhweeet! :D

For peace of mind don't forget to do a "power outage" test and find the ideal water level in the sump. ;)

break finished. happy dance, embarrassing...neighbor came out.....simulated power outage complete...water level adjusted. No towels required. Color me JAZZED.

We have ourselves one happy artist out by the airport folks!!! Don't worry Kat, you have a LOT more to do before you need to employ the patience part of the equation.

preliminary design for 120g hood. Build starts tomorrow afternoon. i want to make this look like it had already been part of the house..like a built in hutch..so the top part of the hood will be tongue and groove painted black to match the base. Crown molding to match the design of what is in the house already..maybe a tad more detail as i am sure to emboss the detail with a contrasting color or perhaps gold leaf. the upper half of the hood with have two inset book/display shelves with spot light halogens built in. The lower half will house the lights (2 VHO actinics and 2 MH's....debating intensity and color, and moonlights.), two fans, one intake, the other output and too fully swing open doors be able to reach inside.
