Kat's 120g Build Thread

breaking news, on the hour...every hour....tang looking very good. swimming very well....less "time outs". breathing seems good...coloration much more vibrant.

clown..

clown..

I just got home from work and saw your posting.. I was a little worried.:worried: lol My water params are ok btw. I spent 1.5 hours this morning dissasembling my rockwork to catch "ronald the clown"[as ethan called him] So he was probably pooped from his re homing. he is a curios guy, He swims constantly during lights on. He slept in a cave with both of my yellow tangs one snuggled on either side of him which I thought was odd for a clown , but all fish have individual personalitys. Keep me posted on him. Btw the coral is Beautifull, it was wonderfull meeting you today .

so glad you like the corals, Drew. Ronald seems to be doing very well now. I've left the lights on so i could make sure he was going to be okay...just gave him a little food...he ate...and has found a cave to call his own... I think we are outta the woods!

And folks...that's nite nite for Kat....I believe I will go to bed......

For all of you with coffee down your windpipe this morning...i apologize in advance.

p.s. just turned off the lights and he is swimming all over the place now....and with the christmas lights under the tank...this looks pretty amazing.

Last few posts sound good! Good luck to Ronald-sounds like he is doing what my flame finned tang does-generally scoots around-dash here dash there!

Sounds like he is doing fine I would bet that if you checked the salinity yours was a little higher than where he came from. I have learned over the years that if the salinity is off then they stress a little more and breath heavier. What I usually do is check salinity in my tank and in the container the fish is in and slowly get them equal. remember if you do alott of fragging that unless you add a little salt to your top off the salinity will go down over time.

didn't think about that, Jeff. Thank you. I've got my salinity at 32-33 ppt...but i didn't check the water from Drew. Will have to remember that in the future. Today...Ron the Tang is doing fabulously. Eating, swimming and we seem to have a pretty special relationship...since yesterday i held him in my hand in the water when I thought he wasn't going to make it....if I put my hand in there, he swims up and leans up against my palm.

update to canopy build....MH's are in, fans are in...not sure how much else i can get accomplished prior to rehearsal tonight...stay tuned.

....there is something really really beautiful about a clean MH bulb, by the way.

i really love him...i love the way he interacts with me...and will come into my hand if i place it in the water...guess we did some major bonding the other night...

thank you so very much. Drew, I love the tang. He has the sweetest personality..really. Such a happy guy...I'm so glad to have him, truly.

thanks for the compliments everyone...it really keeps me motivated!

I already PM'd Drew. But I like to be honest in every thing I do...even with my tanks. This morning I got up early...decided to tackle rearranging the rock in the 120g and the clown tang jumped. not a little jump.....a jump worthy of an olympic medal. He sailed a good two feet....my first carpet surfer. He looked like he might make it when I put him back in, but after two hours it was apparent that he would not. About a half hour ago he expired. I just wanted to let you know.
