So this is my moms cardinal fish, hes in the family 30 gallon with my two clownfish and a blue chromis. As you can see his fins are a bit nipped and I'm not sure whats doing it, I have never seen any aggression from anything in the 6 months the tank has been set up.

I am considering setting my ten gallon back up just for him but that would be quite the hassle for one fish, any ideas on what i could do to help heal him??

Could be either one. My money is on the clownfish. These cardinals like to hang around anenomes. If you have an anenome and the cardinal is trying to hang around it, the clownfish may get territorial and aggressive nipping at the cardinal trying to chase it away...

Either way, the cardinal will be a different contender when it gets larger, and may end up chasing the chromis and be able to stand up to the clowns.

As long as it's not too over-stressed to the point that it's not eating, I'd say ride it out...

Ok thanks he is eating good so I will let him ride it out then...there is plenty of rock work so he should be able to get to saftey most of the time..I dont have an anemome btw just a fowlr
