Last but not least a FTS.. You can see the difference in the back of the tank and the sand, with how much algae is gone.

Awesome! You have done a great job! That unknown coral looks a lot like a Valida coral. Its an SPS. Likes a lot of flow, and stable conditions, and the fact it has gone through a cycle is kinda incredible!

Keep it in a high flow area and where it is getting good light!

they all seem fine... still alive at least... no sign of discomfort what so ever...but man, that garlic gets very strong..

btw...the lr you got with the mystery coral on it looks like a ric...give it some time and you'll see some green or orange out of it!

What coral do you guys think I should get next? I'm also picking up a nice QT setup on Saturday so i'll post pictures of that.

how is the "male" clownfish? They are both maroons? They don't pair up as easily as others, and you often have to use completly different methods. Oftentimes, the female will kill the incoming juvinile or male instead of just beating him up a lot... Is he still alive?

He is still alive and they are great... when I feed the fish, the female clown will grab a hunk and bring it to the smaller one... I'm surprised I got them to work out, most people on these forums have said not to do it and it wouldnt work... so that made me happy :)...

I picked up the QT tank yesterday, it needs a little work done on it.. i'll take some pictures later on today.

Pecan: I was actually thinking of some sort of a monti cap... I need some colors other than green... I've got a lot of that. Something very contrasting.

A nice open brain, red rim, would be a good beginner add. IME you never know what you will have luck with and what you won't. Everyone seems to have that one variety coral that doesn't take. Me, it seems to be certain monti caps, with the exception of purple varieties. I can keep other hard species, like a purple monster frag that seems to be growing quick, so it's not like a water quality issue.

Just try different things, if something doesn't take, don't sweat it. Don't overspend at the beginning until you know things are set and stable.

yeah im trying not to overspend.. thats why i mostly look for livestock here... although i did get a gift certificate for my birthday to Greenwich Aquaria the other day.

Im looking to get something very white or blue next just to contrast the tank a little... right now it mostly has greenish brown corals.
