Kdoc's 210g Reef Tank

Okay, here is a list of EVERYTHING in my setup.

-(1) 210 gallon AGA Reef-Ready Glass Aquarium (Two Overflows)
-(1) Matching Cherry Stand and Canopy
-(1) 36 Gallon Precision Marine Sump
-(1) Euro-Reef RS180 Skimmer
-(2) Danner Mag-Drive Supreme 12 1200 GPH Pump
-(1) Two Little Fishies Phosban Reactor (not hooked up)
-(1) Aqua UV 57 Watt ¾ Inch UV Sterilizer
-(4) Hydor Koralia 4 Power-heads
-(4) Current USA Lunar Light: Nocturnal Blue Moon Light (Not Hooked up)
-(1) 72" Constellation 14 Lamp T5 Fixture

Live Stock
-Roughly 200 lbs+ of Fiji Live Rock with a few Tonga Shelves
-Rougly 150 lbs of Carribean Live Sand
-(2) Blood Red Fire Shrimp
-(2) Starry Lawnmower Algae Blennies
-(1) Blue Hippo Tange (Now Dead, We Think)
-(1) Juv. Emperor Angel Fish (NOT nipping at coral)
-(1) Goldstripe Maroon Clownfish
-(1) Bluefin Damselfish (Not so Aggressive)
-(5) Blue/Green Chromis (Awesome as a school)
-(2) Head of Green Frogspawn (size of and opened hand each)
-(1) Red Palyps large (about 75+ polyps)
-(1) Red Palyps small (about 40+ polyps)
-(1) Green/Blue palyps (about 300+ polyps!)
-(1) Some sort of blue/green Zoas (about 10 polyps)
-(3) Star Polyps (One about the size of a foot ball)

The algae should be take care of because I just got 2 Lawnmower Blennies.

Also, I thought i'd show a picture of the Live Rock BEFORE I added some more.

hopefully your rock was cured and you cycled the tank before adding all those corals and the fish. looks nice, but i forsee some issues

Oh, Dont worry... It was cured... and I did tests after a water change and everything was GREAT. Trust me, I've heard some bad stories about that, so I knew to test

Your occupation says "Highschool." When I was in high school (not THAT long ago mind you), I had a 10 gallon Angel tank, and that was all

1.) I could afford
2.) my parents would allow



Nice tank though! I'd love something large like that one day.

Looks really good, that algae is probably just a phase, all tanks go through it...I would've waited longer before adding all the fish and such, but everything looks ok from the pictures. Lots of water volume too so you're looking good. Where do you go to high school?

Well actually... the algae has calmed down alot, and it went through a 2-3 month cycle. If you look at the picture of the live rock before I added more on the way bottom of the page... you'll notice much more hair algae on the tonga shelf on the right side of the tank than there is now. I also got 2 Lawnmower Blennies a few days ago to help out.

I go to AITE (Academy of Information Technology and Engineering) in Stamford.

tank looks sweet dude. careful how much you add at once- i've made that mistake before. and keep check on the phosphates coz that might help explain all the algae.

Okay, It seems that the algae is calming down though. The algae blennies are taking care of a TON already.

I'm thinking about taking out the Damsel... he seems to be a little too aggresive for the tank scaring away some fish... he also appears to be nipping at the coral (or I may just be seeing things)... Sucks... I've had him for about 3 years. Also, one of the five blue chromis seemed to be missing... the other four were swimming around together. I looked for the missing one and finally found him hiding behind a rock near the overflow... He's stayed there for hours... anyone know what could be the problem?

Yes the Damsel is aggressive with the chromis, but wouldn't the chromis be better off all together?

Wow forgot about this... you guys should see the difference in the algae now that I added a 3-4 inch Diamond Watchman Goby... Best fish i've ever purchased.
