Keep octopus with marine fish?

Hey guys, just browsing through RC and saw your interesting forum. Seems bimacs are very popular here!

I'm just wondering if someone could please tell me if a bimac or other octopus would eat any of my existing tank inhabitants? I do have some non aggressive fish such as a mandarin and yellow spotted boxfish.

Thanks!

Octopuses are a awesome predators. They require a species only tank. Things such as starfish, cucumbers are ok. I don't recommend fish being kept with them. Fish can be agressive to the octopus or the octopus will eat the fish if they can catch them.

Thanks for the quick reply, cephalopoder :)

I had actually just read a heap of your past postings about your bimacs and that's what got me interested...

Aaaa yes.I understand. The bimaculoides has a lot going for it. You do live in australia, one of the most diverse octopus populations around. Pehaps you can research some local species and try and find a nice small day active one. Bimaculoides would be hard for you to get considering your location.
