keep temp stable

Right now...I am using fans to cool off the temp that my MH produces during the day. However...I am having a difficult time keeping the temp stable. The fans are on a timer so either they run too long or not long enough. Is there a device that will monitor the temp and turn a device on/off when it reaches a certain temp?

There are a couple of different options. Take a look at the Ranco temp controllers. If you want to automate a few other features you could step up to the ReefKeeper2 or Neptune series of controllers. We use a Neptune AC3 and I don't know how we did everything without one for so long!

Yes, you can look for thermostats or temperature controllers like the Ranco used to controll chillers. They cost about half of what an Aquacontroller Jr would so may be you want to go for the complete controller.

There are multi speed fans that are temp controlled so the speed increases as the temp goes up.

I'm saving my $ up for the Reefkeeper Elite Hopefully it won't be delayed any later than the end of March.
