Not only will it keep your tank temp stable, itll decrease evaporation making your ATO last longer

Getting rid of the hood and switching lights was the biggest thing for me. An LED on a gooseneck or hanging doesn't put all that heat in the water like PCs do and the natural evaporation cools it a lot too. Depending on the air quality in your house, you'll get a natural PH bump too. I couldn't imagine setting up a chiller, seems like way overkill to me.

I assume this was from a biocube/aquapod? Its an interesting idea, I have to know more!

I would like to edit the previous post to add that I do not like this set up as it is. The second pic on that page you will see a $2 funnel from an autopart store. Plan is to cut the lid, fit the funnel from the inside of the lid, drill the 2.5" hole in the top of the funnel to lift the light off the hood/water line. I will be moving in a couple weeks and will then stop using the gooseneck attached to the rear glass on the tank. I may hang it from the celing or build a small bracket on the wall for the gooseneck to attach to. As it is installed now, the lid is not the easiest to open.

I am going to be trying for 72-74 in Florida. I keep house at 68. Will be interesting to see what tank stays at. Some good ideas here.

I've decided to run the house AC lower and also change the times when my lights come up. The room my tank is in gets pretty hot by ~5pm. So I have the lights starting about 3pm so by the time the tank hits about 80F things are naturally starting to cool down. I'm also able to appreciate the longer since I get home pretty late.
