Keeping Flex Hose in Place

OK, I got a SCWD for my corner tank, and I want to position the two outlet nozzles at the two front corners and aim them toward the back where most of my rockwork is. This means I have to run the flex hose from under the stand to the front of the tank.

The nozzles are on the end of 6-inch sections of Loc-Line so I can adjust as necessary.

Now here's the dilemma - how do I get everything to stay in place? Otherwise I have these two flex hoses flopping around the top and sides of my tank (which doesn't look very neat), and most importantly, two nozzles flopping around in the water. Do I drill? Glue? Use brackets? Build a wood frame and attach the hoses to that? Use regular PVC instead of flex?

The tank has a plastic lip along the top (it's an All-Glass).

I have to have some room to be able to put a lighting hood on as well.

Suggestions would be most welcome. My brain hurts! :hmm3:

Yeah, I figured the drilling might be the best route, but I was worried about getting plastic shards in the water. (Yes, there is already water in the tank.) Do you think it'll be OK, or do I just need to drill very carefully?

Hold a plastic food container under the point you're drilling to catch the debris. You'll be able to catch most of the shavings, I wouldn't worry about it otherwise. Use a cordless drill if you have one since you have water in the tank already, alot safer you if it should slip or...

I do have a few of those plastic food container thingies sitting around, so there's another layer of protection. And yeah, I'm definitely going to try to locate the cordless I had around here. I don't want the fried seafood platter for dinner tonight.

Ive used velcrow with good success in some applications holding flex pipe where i want. Hard to say if it will work for your application though without seeing it

I also use velcrow to hang my VHO actinics above the tank so whenever i need to stick my hands in there i simply move the first coupla bulbs out of my way, and have another piece to stick them to while im working.

Plastic shards in the tank? no probem... I used an ANGLE GRINDER to cut down my standpipe, with dust going everywhere... I just had a sock on the bottom of the downpipe as it went into the sump... no problems!

Personally, I'd go the rigid pipe route; you can get a much neater installation
