Keeping Hamlets together, anyone tried?

I currently have 2, 300 gallon tanks. I have a golden hamlet in one and a shy hamlet in the other. I am in the process of downsizing the softie tank to a 125 (tank with the shy hamlet). I can't keep the hamlet in the 125 because it is full of shrimp (fire and skunks) and small aquacultured fish. It would only be a few days before it was a tank full of soft corals, 2 clowns, 2 cardinals and a hamlet!

So, I want to put this fish in the other 300 gallon tank. Just curious if anyone has ever tried to put two hamlets together. If so, results? What size tank? etc.

Thanks

Hamlets are simultaneous hermaphrodites so I don't think you will have a problem. Both fish are both male and female. If they start spawning it will be quite the sight to see on a nightly basis.

I've read that. But also read that they can be somewhat aggressive towards each other. When I got the shy, I also got a blue at the same time. They were together for a couple months with no issues. Then one day, blue just disappeared.

The territory might not be large enough. I seem to always see them alone, but they come together to spawn. So maybe they like their space when not spawning.

Only one way to find out. Its tough because they are a very cool fish, but just haven't seem to have caught on in the aquarium industry. One of those reasons being that some reports say they get duller colors in captivity. Has that been your experience?
