Keeping my Mandarin alive through Interceptor

I have a fat old mandarin that I don't want to starve through my Interceptor 3 week long treatment. Anybody add something to their tank while doing interceptor to feed their mandarin?

I thought of tigger pods, but I assume they'll be killed from the interceptor. I am doing water changes 9 hours after the treatment though.

Thanks,
tom

I just did the treatment (Dec. 11) in my 58g and I'm a little concerned about the same thing.

I didn't lose any snails/crabs or bristle worms that I can see. I did 1/4 tablet for 6 hour. Did a 15g water change and started up the carbon reactor and skimmer. 1 hour later I dropped the snails/hermits back in the tank and all is well. I did see a lot of tiny white specs floating when I turned the pumps off to syphon water, I can only assume they were dead pods.

No red bugs in sight, I don't think I'm going to repeat the dose, I'm going to keep a very close eye out.

Fortunately my mandarin eats prepared foods so I'm planning to step up feedings to twice a night just for the mandarin to help her out.

Best of luck!

Ive done multiple treatments on my tank. I have never had any problems with my manderin or any other fish for that matter. Adding pods to your tank will be fine after you do the water change as long as your ok with killing them when you treat the next week. I highly recommend going through all 3 treatments. I lost all hermits, and my pepermint shrimp but never lost my pistol or porcelin. I guess thats why they say its effective for select arthripods. Just be mindfull of your crabs and shrimp and everything else should be fine. Goodluck

Sounds good. I did lose my kole tang, but he may have starved to death (stomach wasn't pinched though). I upped my fish feeding. All redbugs are dead (can't see any on the corals) and so are all my pods in both the tank and sump. I didn't have any crabs or shrimp so no deaths there. Polyp extension is noticeably better on corals that had none previously. Two more to go.

Thanks for the replies,
Tom

Get a spare small qt tank and stuff it with cheatomorpha and do not use that stuff on the mandy: the thick mat will protect enough pods to keep the mandy going slower on the noshing.
