Keeping yellow polyps YELLOW

lol you guys got me scared too. I pickedup a small rock at a club meeting and put them right next to the GSP rock. Look like they gotta move. Too bad, the rock their on has near perfect flow and is pretty close to he light. I atcually got it as an experiment to see if I could keep them under my 18 watt NO flourscent They seem good so far :)

Pea-brain, Keep me posted on how it does in that lighting . I was thinking of moving my large colony out of my cube to my FOWLR tank which has pretty basic lighting.

Now mine have started to grow on the overflow. I have to get rid of the rock because I don't have room in my tank to isolate the rock from everything else.

We'll see. I moved them down about 2" to a diff. rock. I wuld bet that they'll survive and grow, but slowly. But I'll keep you updated with any changes. BTW I'm an idiot, and wanted to see if their nematacysts are strong enough to feel. Well, I put my index finger right against it and felt the polyps.Sure enough theres a little tingle. I move the rock and about 5 mins later my fingers REALLY itchy. soak in really warm water got rid of it. THAT is why I should never, ever ow anenomes :)

I never knew these guys were considered invasive/agressive.

Mine, here at top left, are pretty quite green, and I assummed the middle mouth, was what was considered yellow. I bought them as "yellow buttom polyps" and they're green, but the center mouth is a decent yellow.
They're spreading, but not too quickly. Clean water, 175w20k HQI's plus dual 92w pc acitinics.
As you can see, they're pretty close to the light, and when they spread to another rock, that one is in the center of my tank, only halfway up. They''ve gotten darker, the lower ones.

AN update: They were doing great and not losing any color for like 2 weeks. Then I had a huge ammonia spike for unknown reasons (4 ppm plus). luckily all my fish survived. The yellow polyps were doing fabulously and looked normal despite the ammo until the cyano got them. Then they withered and look pretty dead. ALong with my poor xenia :( Oh well.....
