Kent Marine Salt question

i have been using this salt for a while now. i like the higher ca and alk in this salt mix. How much do you think is salt important in an SPS Tank? i have seen salty sell the tropic marine pro which is twice the cost of what i am using. so i was just wondering if paying up is worth it or all these salts are overrated?

Instant Ocean on Tyler Blvd in Mentor Ohio mixes other brands at their facility according to the spec that the brand has set as well as their reef crystals and instant ocean.

I use plain jane instant ocean and bring up pH and Ca and Alk as needed.

Mixing it ahead of time. Having good RO/DI water source, aeration, and matching temp and pH are probably the more critical over what your favorite brand is. With the Ca and Alk levels being that extra finesse point.

And the TOTM winners from around the globe have done so using almost every brand/mix under the sun.

Most of it just depends on how much you feel like buffering Ca, Alk & Mag.

I'm not sure how much the amounts of trace elements vary per manufacturer.

I use Instant Ocean Reef Crystals, and just boost the Ca a litle. I order it online from Drs. Foster & Smith. Only like $40.00 shipped to my door in 3 days.

In fact that reminds me... I have a bucket scheduled to show up tomorrow. :lol:

i have never had something delivered in three days from f&s
it is mostly 7-10 business days at best.
