Kent max 50 waste keeps running

After 2 years of operation my Kent Max 50 RO/DI waste line keeps running even though the float switch should be turning it off.
I suspect a bad component, like a check valve or pressure switch or sonething.
Any ideas what might be the bad part and what does it look like so I can identify it?
Can it be fixed or must I get a replacement?

Thanks

A followup to my own question.
If it has been running like this for weeks would all my cartridges and RO membrane be used up? Or is the water bypassing it all?

I dont' know what all components you have on that unit, but Ro/Di units are not very complicated in the way they work. Obviously something is not right and once you identify it, just replace the broken component.

Is the flush valve still turned on? Bad float switch? May wanna post a pic of your unit so everyone knows what all is involved here.

maybe the switch needs to be cleaned out,my unit has a shutoff vavle,a little roundish box that has 4 screws.looks like it could be taken aprt for maintainance or repair.just my observation.good luck

My thoughts too Rhino but the solenoid is at the entrance to the unit and, if stuck open, it should produce both reject and product water unless some sort of bypass is installed.

Are you saying you are not getting any product or good water flow but the waste line continues to run?

You probably have a bad autoshutoff valve, thats pretty common and shouild only cost $10 to $15 to replace including a new check valve too. I would shut the unit off at the source as you are not only wasting water you are depleting the carbon filter and plugging the prefilter needlessly.

If your good water continues to run also:
Do you have a float valve or a float switch and solenoid? Sometimes with a float valve you can push it down to get water flowing and then release it quickly to cause a bit of a surge to finally stop the flow. If its a float switch and solenoid your solenoid may need disassembling and cleaning if it is not seating tightly.

I'm betting its the autoshutoff is bad, I've had this happen to me.

I'm getting good product water. The waste line keeps running.

I just cleaned the check valve and it is still running so it must be the solenoid. Can that be cleaned? I see 4 screws that might open it up.

I assume I must replace all my filters including the RO membrane.

I imagine it can be cleaned Doc. Just make sure that you remember how it comes apart so you can reverse the order during reassembly.

If the product water quality is good then I wouldn't replace anything at this point. The first thing to go will be the DI resin so as long as TDS is in line there is no need to replace things

I had the same issue about 3 weeks ago with my unit. Turns out the ASOV (Auto Shut off valve) was broken. I took it apart and found that the inner rubber membrane had partially gotten sucked out the exit port on the inner side.
