Kent Tech M for Bryopsis

I know there have been other posts about this, but I didn't see many that were still on cycling tanks. I have a 150 gallon that is still into the cycle (the nitrites are almost 0)
I have about 40 lbs of live rock in there with some nice life on it and several clams.

I have had a really bad breakout of bryopsis. I was wondering if I can be more aggressive with the dosages of the Kent Tech M considering I don't have any corals yet??

You could give Tech M a try. I agree that it's safer now rather than later, but I'd still be cautious about the clams. They have some of the same issues as corals.

I already have it actually but just wasn't sure if I could up the doses. But I was wondering about the class myself. Thanks.

And will the Mg eventually be reduced with normal water changes or do I need to actively remove it?

Water changes will lower the magnesium level over time. There's no other practical way to remove it, actually.

I would look into using bright wells dry Mg supplement, much more cost effective, basically is tech- M without paying for RO/DI water.

Also, I think you should probably focus more on nutrient control and having a good clean up crew/ grazers to keep any turf algaes/bryopsis from being a problem.

Thats just my .02
