Can anyone tell me why this guy has looked like this for a month. Parameters are in sig., and are current. No spikes or changes tank is stable. Only running carbon and gfo currently.

It is close to the top of the tank do they prefer lower light?

If you blow it or create flow do chunks fall off? Also, move location, needs atleast medium flow, check that there is nothing, like parasites harrasing it.

Only the film of skin it sheds all the time no "chunks" so to say. I can see nothing on it anywhere. I was thinking to much light some of the tips get black like a scab that fall off a few days later. It is in a pretty good flow area

I have one dong the same that has been doing great for 2 years in the same spot. Following along for some ideas.

My guess: too much light. Try moving it down in your tank and see if that helps.

I hope its just the light when got him he was huge and looked awesome!

I recenttly got 3 of these. 1 of them is doing thhis same thing and the others are not. I can place the unhealthy looking one in the same place as I have the other two and it does not improve. On the bright side, it is strting to expand a little, but not much.

I moved it clear to the bottom of the tank yesterday. When I di it expelled some nasty looking liquid, every thing in the tank closed up..... turned the lights out, left the carbon run and waited, This morning the water had cleared and some of the stuff started to relax. This evening, WOW what a difference, The kenya has expanded alomst 3 times what it was before the move.
So it was either a flow or light issue. I am thinking more of a light issue becouse it has changed its color, from purple green to a healthier looking pinkish tan. Hope it continues to improve!
