I have a quick question about my kenya tree frag.. i have had it for several months and has been doing great and growing rather tall

well this morning i woke up to the top branch of my kenya tree detached and laying in the sand.. it isnt shrivled up.. could it have just detached part of its self?

or should i pull it?

in the picture i circled where the piece fell off from.

i just really dont want to mess up my parameters

ps im sorry for the size and quality of the pictures.. i got this really nice digi camera.. and i cant figure out how everything works lol

thanks for your help

I that will grow into another tree. Just let it sit on the sand for a day or two, then it should stick to some sand. Glue the sand to a piece of rubble and your set..

Normal

Normal

That is what they do. The drop and re-attached them self to a new location. No need to worry but keep an eye on them, if you do not control them, they will end up all over your tank.

Wanna buy any frags;-)

lol hell yeah i wanna buy more frags.. its the drive down there that kills me.. lol

you will be happy to know plc that all frags i have gotten from you have been 100% success and are growing rapidly..

thanks for the info ill place it in the sand and see what it does from there. i thought it might be normal because it looked healthy.

Grow like weeds, yes, but for $3 to $5 a frag, I do not mind;-)

Helps to pay for the new tank!

what i dont understand is why people buy these things. but if it gets you a new tank it is a sweet deal for you

Must be a market out there:

Look what they sell them here for:

I just rather people buy a tank grown one for 1/10th the price, plus I feel better knowing that I could have replaced a wild cut one.

My 2 cents

i bought it because i liked the way it looked and its a nice piece in my tank? why is there a problem with them clay?

Ours did the same thing. It dropped like 10 little pieces over a week or 2 then it seemed a little deflated for a day...recovering probably. Now it is back like it was before. I have given frags to the LFS, and still have like 5 of them. If anyone is interested, or know someone that is interested, just let me know.

While we are on the subject -

While trying to adjust my heater, the other day my tank got up to 85 degrees. The tops of kenya trees have been closed up since (1 1/2 days) but the stalks still look fine. All other corals and fish are okay.

Are the trees history?

hey lifesworksataol

you can have the piece that fell from mine. its not very big maybe an inch and a half but ill trade you a small turbo snail or a couple bucks.

let me know
