Does anybody have one on there 20 gallon Long? if so what is the Max intensity and Color do you use? I am trying to reprogram my Apex and would love to hear what you do.

Yes it would.. Not to mention the height over the water and what lights the corals were under prior. Too many variables and what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander.
I'd suggest starting at 60-70% color. Really that boils down to preference more than anything else. I'd start at 50-60% intensity and leave it there for 2 weeks observing the corals. If they respond adversely, back off by 2%. If they seem to do well, increase the intensity by 2% once a week and watch the corals. If they respond adversely back it off 2%. If they respond well, increase it a week later and repeat the process. They key is starting off low and increasing slowly so you can monitor the corals an not do damage while also being able to observe and back off or increase as needed.
I have a 22g nano and I started out at 50%, maybe lower? I slowly increased the intensity by 1% - 2% a week, sometimes not increasing for a week, until I reached my current setting at 85%. I may have increased by a higher % here and there along the way? I also kept new frags on the sand for a day or two before I moved them up, sometimes placing them to the sides, then moving them under the light more and more. It's better to start out with less light, than to blast them and then try to recover. These lights pack a lot, so take it slow. My color is 60%, mostly sps, but if you have a mixed reef, then 70-85% would suit your needs, but like "slief" said, it's a personal preference. Take it slow and observe. Oh yeah, 8" - 9" above the water line should do the trick, but you may have to go a little higher with a 20L? You could always put lower light corals on the ends? Good luck and enjoy!
