Kessil AP 700 Owners Gather Here!

I tried the android app on my tablet today, but I couldn't even work the color wheel. I guess it was designed for android phones and not so much tablets. But the iPhone app and the android app look practically the same.

How many AP 700 fixtures is everyone using on their 72" tanks?

According to Kessil:

Single AP700 Maximum Coverage:

"¢36"x 24" at 7" above water level

"¢48" x 24" at 18" above water level

So you would only need 2 for a typical 72" tank?

I have two and it is perfect coverage for my SPS tank. I measure over 200 PAR in each corner on the sand bed @ only 60%. My peak is not @ 75% for 4 hours. 7" about water. Two is plenty!

Depends on the tank. 72/30/30? 72/18/8?

I'll be starting with 2 on a 60/27/27 but I think I will end up with 3.

Yeah I've been waiting for this thread! The ap700 is on my to-get list. I wanted feed back from the pros. Been all over the net reading various things but knew this was where I really wanted to gather my info. I'll be following. Oh can we please please please make this a sticky.

The is no pwm input on this light that I am aware of.

Couldn't tell you. I can look tomorrow.
Kessil said it would be compatible but that it might take a bit before they get it to be.
If not, I'll have 2 AP700 for sale.

The software would have to be able to do API calls on the network. Which I doubt since there hasn't been any os changes in Apex. I preorder my cerrebra for this reason. Ready to jump ship.

Are they not able to make API calls due to the OS?
ABI calls?

I don't really need it to be Apex controllable. I do wish it was cloud based though.

How did you mount them? Front to back every 2 feet?

No. I have a combo T5/ap700
I run 3 down the center. One for each section
And 2- 5 foot 4 bulb ati's on the front and back.

I used the hanging mounts. I have a sliding rack in the canopy to glide them out for service.
