I always use the blue spectrum, was just wondering how it transitions from one to another. In my opinion if you want to grow some nice coral , I'd stay/peak in the bluer side of town 400nm-500nm most high end coral vendors (wwc,Two guys coral, battlecoral)tend to peak in This spectrum. Thus the proven track record and success of ati t5 blue plus, 20k halide radiums, reef bright XHO,even actinic t5..if you want program your lights to be visually appealing (spectrum) while your home/after work (1-2 hours and then go back to bluer spectrum here's some good reference to that (skip to 5:40)https://youtu.be/iNS-clay-boaeZUI
Just had a little time to play with them yesterday and now out of town but have read others say theres no transition. There's transition in intensity. Hopefully someone can confirm

Thanks, that's what I thought but wasn't sure.I can confirm that there is no ramp, it just changes. But it's really quite a subtle diffference between each. But definitely noticeable if you happen to be looking at your tank when it changes.

Just got a AP700 for my reefer 250. Haven't gotten it mounted yet so I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with. Currently I'm using 2 a160we's on the tank at a peak of 85%. If the 700 is mounted about the same height above the water like I plan to do, what % would you start at for the new light? I was thinking starting around 40% max but not sure if that will be too much or not. Anyone got an idea of what % on the 700 would compare to 85% on the 160's?
I got an AP700 from Dr Foster and Smith on that 25% off sale... man, a no brainer at that price!
Pretty excited about it for my new build. It's going over a RSR XL 425.
What F&S sale?
How does warranty work with this?I got an AP700 from Dr Foster and Smith on that 25% off sale... man, a no brainer at that price!
