You will be amazed at what happens to your tank running the ap700 with t5's.
The growth you get is insane. I run the combo. On the same system I run m80 radium/vho with a 360 and the growth is nowhere close. Only variable I can see is water flow and depth of tank. Mh/vho/360 is a 12" tall tank vs the ap700/t5 300dd tank.
How do you all with a T5 combo handle the scheduling? Do the T5s only come on at the height of your schedule or are they on the whole time with the AP700 driving the primary intensity?

Can someone clarify the moonlight function for me. So I set it up about a month ago. I set it with new phase. Is it ways supposed to stay on new phase, or is it supposed to change to full moon as the month rolls along?

ugh. I'm now experiencing the pain of noticing my light turn on and off after hours. This was a problem early on for me (maybe a year ago) but I thought it was behind me. I'm using the newest android app.
This sort of weirdness makes me think.... if the light can randomly turn on and off, is it possible that it is not putting out the percentage of intensity I have it programmed for. teetering on the fence for scrapping it only because of that sort of uncertainty...
Because I can't leave anything alone I plan to upgrade from the dual Kessil A160's on A series mounts and extensions to the AP700 and hanging kit hopefully in the next few months. Want to tag along here until then!

Then it's not working properly for me.It will change just as the actual moon starting with whatever phase you chose.

You are making the right choice. I think anyone considering the Radion at least will strongly question the choice once they are educated about this fixture.

I've never owned any other light than Kessil, I recently went to Aquatic Critter in Nashville and all of their coral had either Kessil 360's or AP700's above them.
Very happy with Kessil up to this point, I won't lie the random issues with the AP700 have me slightly concerned. From my research these issues tend to me hit or miss.
Kessil is doing, and has done, so much damage to the reputation of this light by not releasing a final, stable version of the firmware. I don't know what they are doing? I mean, the beta firmware is rock-solid for me and has been for a while now, but you can't expect everyone with the light to sign up for a beta program lol.
It's really insane. All they need to do is contract a single quality developer for maybe a couple months, at most, and end up with firmware that lasts the life of the light. But, no, instead they seem content with hit-and-miss firmware that has a reputation that is clearly marring the sales of the fixture. :headwalls: It's easily the most well-rounded light that currently exists and with the perfect design since it's the only light (except obscure lights like an Orphek) that covers a 4' tank. And, yet, they haven't been able to provide the basic tools to make everyone comfortable with the light in well over a year. It's like having a Ferrari only putting 3 gears in it.

With my tank being 36" the AP700 is a perfect fit and exactly what I am looking for in a slime fixture that is one fixture and not having to purchase anything extra to mount 2 lights together.
In my opinion what really sold me was the video that Bulk Reef Supply did on lighting and the details they provided on the AP700. The results they gave us in that video have made me over look these random issues that pop up from time to time.
I still have a few months before I pick one up, I'll cross my fingers! haha
Yep it's the perfect light for all of the typical tank sizes. Quick break down of typical sizes:
1 x 24" ($900) = keep anything
1 x 36" ($900) = keep anything
1 x 48" ($900) = mixed reef
2 x 48" ($1800) = keep anything
2 x 72" ($1800) = SPS heavy mixed reef
2 x 96" = ($1800) mixed reef
3 x 96" ($2500) = Keep anything
Meanwhile, other high quality lights with bizarro spread to sell more fixtures, like an XR30w Pro look more like this:
1 x 24" ($800) = keep anything
1 x 36" ($800) = ehhhh, maybe a mixed reef but probably won't work
2 x 36" ($1600) = keep anything with enormous overlap in spread and essentially wasted expense
1 x 48" = Nope, not an option
2 x 48" ($1600) = keep anything
2 x 72" = Nope, not an option
3 x 72" ($2400) = Probably can keep anything
2 x 96" = Nope, not an option
3 x 96" ($3200) = Barely an option, can maybe have a mixed reef
4 x 96" ($4000) = Can keep anything
People really under estimate how crappy most other lights are for not providing an amount of spread that works evenly with 2' and 4' tanks. And those prices don't even factor in that Kessil actually allows their lights to go on sale and it's not uncommon for new AP700s to be ~$700.
