Kessil AP 700 Owners Gather Here!

That would be cool, the only LED I know of that did something like that was the Vertex Illumina

AI does it as well in their app. You place each light based on a grid which represents the tank.

This tank is 96x30x30 (375) gallons. The lights are mounted about 15" off the surface and at 80% power. There are 4 gen3 radion pros. I have the new G4 pros on a 120 and I'm sure you'd have no issues with 4 G4 pros on your tank. The light program the 4 G3 pros are set to is the coral growth lps setting. Everything is doing phenomenal including a clan the size of a football on the sandbed.

Better more recent pic

The clam, in this pic he was on a rock about 8-10" up but did better in the sand so that's where we moved him

They seem to be great lights but I really don't understand all this crappy firmware and stuff. As you all probably well know, I am waiting for Apex controlability which they have always stated will be there. But, at this point I think I'm going to switch gears and sell the 2 NIB ones I have. So PM me if you're looking.

Has anyone tried setting the light intensity ABOVE 70% while using red/green? No matter how small of a percentage of a color I use, I cannot get it above 70%. I brought this issue up with kessil, but never received a response. I believe it is to reduce heat as the light gets fairly hot, but I hope this is not a limitation of the fixture design itself.

U can't set it higher then that with reds and greens.

Kessil is working with Neptune on this. It's not that easy to implement since both use different protocols.

I hear ya. But they can't even get the app and firmware right, kind of makes me question if/when Apex control will come.
They'll probably have a new one out by the time I actually get my tank setup[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23].

Get on the beta program. Send them an email. Then upload the 3.4 firmware and the 3.3 app. Most if not all the problems were fixed.

But you haven't even installed the lights yet so you don't know what, if any problems you have. Not everyone has the same issues. Really depends on the environment the lights are in.

We represent a very small number of actual users. Many use the stock app and firmware just fine.

Is it just me or the camera, Radions seem very purple.

That tank is 20+ years old and finally on the right track. A lot of coralline on the rocks make it look a little more purple

I had the AP700 for a year now over my Red Sea Reefer 350, 4 feet tank. I hated it at first because the app sucks but once I found a schedule I liked and dont have to mess with it, I am slowly liking the light. It took a long time for my acro frags to color up but in the past few months, I have seen a lot of growth. If I get to go back in time, I would probably still stick with the AP700 due to sleek design and having just one fixture over the tank.

Some pics of the tank:

This is incorrect. The AP700 functions via API calls over Wifi. They just need to make the API available to Apex. I mean it's still not simple but the issue is *not* that they use different protocols.

I installed 3 AP700 on my 125 SPS tank 7 weeks ago and I have NO issues with the firmware. They are GREAT lights!

Good to hear. I want it to get out that 99% of the launch issues are resolved, so far only thing I am aware of is a bug where the light turns off then immediately back on to normal. Kessil is aware of this and working on it now.
