Kessil LPS 40 Breeder

whats up!
planning a 40 breeder build and am trying to achieve the perfect light primarily for acans, chalice, z's and p's.

i am considering 2 kessil a150's or 1 kessil a360 or 4 bulb t5ho with some led accent lighting. i'm on a budget so the a360 seems a little pricey, but is still a consideration.

i've been keeping acans under led's for a while now and i can't get them to keep their true color. they always seem to morph to orange. so i'm trying to get something that will give me great colors and steady growth for my acans and chalice.

If I didn't have a deep tank I would go the t-5 route. My tank is 30' deep and the lights are 8" off the water line so I have to use leds pretty much. My growth wasn't as good but I liked some of the colors better.

I don't know a whole lot of anything about kessil but i can say a 4 bulb T5 would be plenty for LPS, 6 bulbs and it could be SPS dominated.

Lots of people have reported the same issue with acans and LEDs. Mine weren't changing to orange, but they were getting bleached BAD. I ended up losing about half of them, and placed the remaining acans under rocks and ledges, and they are doing better.

It's also thought that many acans will change color from red to orange under high-light levels.

I had a 4 bulb t-5 over a 75g and had tons of sps. You don't need 6 bulbs for that.

I forgot I was at the guy who owns Apollo reef leds house a few weeks ago. He has a 40 breeder unit and everything looked awesome. They're controllable so you can dial in the spectrum you want and the intensity the coral needs. Not that I'm pimping those lights, but my leds are not controllable and I think I would prefer more blue.
