Kessil on a 60 gallon cube

Im looking at switching over to leds. I want to put a kessil a360we on a 60g cube will this be enough/ what would you do or put on your tank?

It really will depend on your scape and how the corals grow. If you stay low and flat one could work. It you are tall and steep you will need more than one. This is true for the hydra52 also. I have a steep section and the lighting is poor while the flat sections are just fine.

I use a single A360we on one side of a 120 that I use as a frag tank. IMHO, they grow like crazy, but with the light ~12" above the water and the frags all of 3" below water level it's hard to say for sure. On the other hand, the Palythoas, zoanthids, and kenya trees growing from the bottom of the tank up are all doing very well

I have a Kessil A360WE that I just put over a 60g cube. It's replacing a 250w halide. It just set it up, so I don't know how well it's going to work. Seems to light up the cube plenty though, but there is shawowing from the smaller source of light than the halide.

I'm replacing a 250w metal halide also. It's big and ugly (My cube is rimless so I dont have a canopy) and I cant wait to get rid of it. How do you like the customization features and did you mount it on a neck or is it hanging?

I had it hanging for a few days, but I just got the gooseneck today. I did like the look of hanging, but i couldn't get it to hang right without the cords influencing it because of how light it is. So I went with the gooseneck. Also allows me to hide the cords easier.

The Kessil controller is rather basic if you're going to use that. It works, but you're not going to get the features of say the AI Hydra director. I'm still feeling it out though

I know a few who have kessils and like them. I've also heard good things about the a350, do you think the a350's have just as much power?

I have a Kessil a350we on my 150 gallon cube. But as everyone is eluding to, their are so many factors that come into play when deciding to run one you really have to look at the big picture. Right now for me it's working beautifully. But My Rockford is dead center in my aquarium and I do have some areas that get very slight shadowing. But at the same time I have mine suspended using the gooseneck just a few inches above the water surface. When I start stocking more and get really heavy into the SPS I could see purchasing more. Heck maybe even going up to 4 u nits on the display and ano ft her unit for my refugium. I would say get one and try it out and see how it performs on your system.
