Kessil Question- Advice Appreciated

Hi everyone!

I am planning on building an SPS-dominated reef, either 47 gallons (30x20x18) or 50 gallons (32x20x18). I really like the Kessil products, and am thinking about going in that direction this time.

My question: Do you think that one of the Kessil A 360's will be adequate for growing SPS in either tank? Would I be better served with two? Should I go with two 160's instead?

I appreciate any insight or suggestions.

Thanks,

Hank

I love the 360w it's amazing and very very bright I am growing a few sps with no problems I have a 20x20x20 cube and its tuned down well over half closer to 1/4 so I think one would be fine

Thanks David!

Does anyone have a feeling about the two 160's?

Will I be able to grow a full SPS reef using these lights?

Cheers!

Hank

2 is better than 1 on a tank that size. With one you will get severe shadowing on your sps as they grow into colonies.

I would think 2 160 would be fine if you got the 160n the W spreads pretty well but I guess more power is never a bad thing if you have the $

Either should work as long as its the w. I prefer to have more power than I need and dim it down than not have enough. If you're looking at buying 2 360s have you looked at the nanobox line of light fixtures. They are really nice, and use the best selection of LEDs on the market today.
