Kessil Spectral Controller

Now that it's been out for a while ....

Does it provide for greater dimming range than the other alternatives like apex. Using VDM, mine come in at about 12-15%. I was under the impression that the spectral controller was no better, but I'm now told that not the case.

Quite happy to be wrong as I've been dissatisfied with the dimming capability on the apex. Was told by a supposed authority that the spectral controller was no better so I didn't get it. Irritatingly difficult to get accurate information in this hobby sometimes.

Not wrong just told the wrong thing. Hope the video helps you. The APEX runs your whole tank though and I guess 15 down to 5% isn't that big a difference. Spectral only runs the Kessil.
