The color of the a350 dialed down is quite pleasing. I'm running mine at around 35% this first week. About the same amount on both channels. Love it. I have a 20g standard, with the lamp about 12" over the water's surface.

I also like how I can turn the knobs all the way down, and still have a very soft light illuminate the tank as a sort of moonlight for when I'm up at night, after normal lights-out, and still want to enjoy the aquarium

The 150s contrary to how they are advertised look more in the 14K-20k range (well with the exception of the amazon). The sky blue looks like a phoenix 14k, the ocean blue is more like an XM 20k, and the deep ocean blue is bluer than any MH bulb I have seen - I would say "as advertised", an actinic color.

How Blue do you feel the A350 is?

I just saw the A350 at my LFS. When he put it on maximum blue it did not seem to get as blue as my 20K Deep Ocean Blue A150. But I did not see them side by side so I cannot be totally sure.

Well we (she) desided to go with 2 A150W Ocean blues! She loved the color as soon as they turned them on in the store. Pic's and video do not look the same as in person!!

Yes!! The LFS owner offered to let me see them since I was definately buying them today, and hooked one up to show me over one of their coral tanks. I believe that the tank is either a 75 or a 55...hard to tell recessed in the wall. But omg...it was AWESOME! The color is exactly what I was looking for. And the light spread on just the one 150W was impressive. I think the two will be perfect for the 40. Thanks everyone for your imput. Once we get the setup further along, we'll start a build thread and I'll post pics of the lights.

Personally, I think getting two a350 is a better option. You have the ability to tune it down to your desire intensity. I feel that the a150 are too limited in it's abilities. Also, if you ever plan to upgrade, the a350 can still be part of it.

For what it's worth, I'm getting two A350 for my 30x30x24 tank. I was told that one A350 would be enough, but I don't like having shadows.

Ok, just got mine, and after playing around with them, I'm very impress. I'm kind of kicking myself a little bit, should of listen to others, didn't need two of them. One is enough, the shadow isn't as noticeable.
