also, Dip EVERYTHING!!!
i don't/wouldn't accept corals from family/friends/ or even the president of the US without dipping and using a magnified glass to give a once over before going in the tank.

Tell everyone this, and they wont get upset because your not putting their corals in your tank. I even take free corals to people and tell them to dip them (i don't have pests) but it gets them in the habit if doing it with everything.

Well said --Dipping your coral before going in the tank is very important. I am now using the Bayer Insecticide for the dip.

Keep everything as easy as possible. Buy reactors buy apex buy anything that will help make it easier. Get a long hose so you can drain the water straight from your tank to the drain. Got external ocean runner 6500 just for water changes. Regular water changes and keeping your water perfect. Do not go to frag swaps or put anything in your tank without coral dipping it first. Keeping everything easy and not having to carry water everywhere makes you keep up on regular water changes.

You have been in the hobby for 2yrs but how old is the new SPS tank? Are you trnsfering any rock ,coral or fish from another tank you have or is the SPS tank brand new?

No such thing!!
Alk between 7-11
Calcium above 375
Mag above 1350 to keep Alk and Cal stable and in saturation
Ph. This is just a indication of the oxygen content in your water.
If ph is low, it needs more fresh air. You can run skimmer intake outside for fresh air. Or if your running a calcium reactor, run the effluent through a second chamber to buffer the water.

Its going to do what it wants. Just watch the levels and keep them stable. That's the key

Another ph solution is to open a window or door in your house every now and then to allow more o2 in your house which will make it into your tank

Hi, thanks for your reply. I am starting a new tank with new rock. The rock in my old tank had aiptasia and flatworms and I didn't want to take a chance on bringing them over to my new tank. So this tank will mainly be new corals, plus my two percula clown fish and small bubble tip anemone. I have a couple of LPS I may bring over as well.
