KH dropping fast, Why?

Hi,

I am battleing the calcium/KH battle. (new-b here). If I test my KH at 7pm and I get a reading of 9dkh, and I test again at 8am the next day I get a reading of 6kh. What's up with this? Can KH drop that much overnight? I've been dosing ESV B-ionic equal amounts everyday.

Is this normal, or is something else going on here?

Yes, the alkalinity can drop rapidly if it is being used. A typical range is about 1-4 dKH per day, but it can be higher or lower than that.

Ok, so this is normal. Should I be adding my two part in the evening instead of the morning, or dosen't it matter?

All of you 2 part dosers, How do you keep up with this?

The morning can be best if you are using one that raises pH.

Most people do it manually, but some use dosers of various sorts.
