Kick Ich?

I never tried Kick Ich but I had excellent results with "Stop Parasites", the label said to treat for 5 days (double treatments per day) but I had ich so bad on my Purple Tang that it took 15 days of treatments to cure him......That was almost 3 months ago & there has been NO re-occurance!!!! Also Al the owner gives the BEST customer service I have EVER experienced with ANY product I have EVER purhased!!!!.....AND "Stop Parasites" is reef safe!!!!

I would not recommend it. I tried it about a year ago and it did seem to make the ich better. However, it did not completely cure it and I had to fight a bad cyano outbreak after using since the skimmer was off and possibly a side affect of the medication. Not worth it in my opinion.

That is why I said it took 15 days instead of 5.....You didn't stick with it until it was cured no wonder you were dissapointed!!!! I called & spoke with the owner....He actually answered his phone @ 10:30 on a Sunday night!!!! He called me 4 times during the treatment to check on my fish & make reccomendations, I was very impressed with that amount of customer service!!!!....

I am not very impressed what what I've seen so far. I'm now up to day number 11 and did the the bad infection treatment.

Corals all started showing signs of stress by day 5, and all looked like they were about to die by day 7. Most were no longer coming out at all or barely. I had to pull all my corals out of my tank and take them to my friends house. He put them in his fuge and they all came back except my Xenia.

So as far as it being reef safe, I have heard some having success with it, I for one can tell you. I have used the product and if I didn't pull my corals out, they would have all died.

As far as the effect of treating the tank.. Since the Ich outbreak I have added a 500gallon UV Sterilizer(270gph, in a 120g tank), feed fish with Garlic food 2x a day, Vitachem once a day, Selcon once a week, and am using Kich Ich and all my fish look good except for my blue hip tang. However some of the fish are still showing signs of ich because of their behavior like scratching etc..

So as of right now, I do not feel the product is doing much of anything in my tank. I followed the instructions perfectly, and have not noticed a real noticeable improvement. I am going to continue treatment with it however, as it's not hurting my inverts and/or fish. I am going to do an extra treatment on Day 12, then do a treatment on day 15, and again on day 17. Let the tank sit for a week and then reevaluate my situation.l

Hope this helps with your decision.

I wanted to give an update on Kich Ich. I completed the 15 day treatment and I let the stuff remain in my tank for 5 days after. My fish appear to be alittle better, but my blue hip tang still has some ich on her. (she is the only fish)

Of note, one of my feather dusters died and the other looks like it's going to be following soon. They had been looking really stressed over the last week or so.

I did a 35% water change yesterday and did a major gravel vac to hopefully suck up some of the ich in the rocks. I also started another 15 day treatment of kich ich. I already wasted my money by buying two bottles of the stuff so I might as well use it. I also read a post awhile back where someone mentioned it took them twice as long as recommened and they had to dose more then recommended. So... we'll see..

oh yeah, both my nudeabranches(sp) died also during this treatment. I'm gonna have to say being invert and reef safe is not completly true. I've had a few things die. My corals that I had to move out of my tank and take to my friends are just now starting to come back. One died and another didn't come back fully.
