killer clowns

I have a breeding pair of ocellaris clowns (female near 3 1/2" male 2 1/2") so a larger pair. They breed like bunnies, but had stopped because I acquired a new tank. Its a 50 breeder and I have one other fish a black velvet angel. They have already killed another angel I had and now I noticed they are attacking the black velvet.

Should I just give up trying to have other fish with them or should I get something a little more aggressive to get along with them. I was thinking a marine betta.

Or if can think of something else

from what livequaria says they are peaceful. i would suggest getting bigger fish to start with.spend the extra 15 bucks and get a 4-5 inch angel how big is the angel right now. do u have a qt tank. if so, and it looks like its getting beat up bad i would move it. wait until its healthy again then move rocks around confuse the clowns so they dont think the whole tanks is theirs.

When dealing with aggressive fish, it is always best to add them to a new setup LAST. Add other fish first, and let them establish themselves, before adding the clowns.

Additionally, you could buy more fish (which would distract them from picking on any single fish) as well as fast, active fish that they will have a hard time messing with.

yeah I have the qt and have done that with the other angel but it was too late and then he quit eating. LA isn't dealing with a mother protecting her brood when they describe the clowns. This female attacks my hand and has drawn blood.

the marine betta is itself a shy fish and may stop eating if your queen is as
aggressive as you had described. Best of Luck!
