I need a quarantine tank anyway, so I think I'll buy a 10 or 20 gallon, start it out at the salinity of the lfs (1.021) and slowly raise it up to the salinity in my 180 (1.025).

Hopefully you'll be able to come up with what is going on. There are so many different things it could be, just have to go through all possibilities and eliminate them one at a time.
