b, did you check their salinity before you put them in? .001 is the allowable difference.

I'm pretty sure they are Nassarius snails. I'm not certain because I won them at a raffle and they didn't tell me what kind they were. And yes I acclimated them. They seemed to be doing fine. I fed them some granulated pellets and they ate them.
Also, I know they didn't molt because I could see the shrimp's body squirming around between two of the snails. The salinity differences may be the factor. My LFS and my hydrometer had a big difference as there's measured about .002 higher then mine. That was probably my problem and I'll be sure to check that next time.
Hopefully, you do indeed have true Nassarius sp., which feed on carrion and detritus and not something like Ilyanassa obsoleta (AKA olive/mud snails), which are indeed predatory.
