Killer Starfish!!

I had a fairly small green brittle star munch a yellow clown goby. He will occasionally attack a snail, but I can stop that by simly dropping food in the water. He quickly forgets the snail.

In my marine inverts book the nickname they have for the green brittle star is "The Green Death"

I'd definitely keep that out of my tank if I were you.

Do you have a pic of the star eating the snail?

Emerald Green brittles are piscivores in nature...they will eat fish if they can catch them. I returned mine as I had it in my reef tank. My guess is it ate my Royal Gramma's and small Damsels!
Bali stars and Bahama stars aren't reef safe either as they will eat beneficial livestock.

In researching this incident, I got to looking around my tank because my green brittle start was hanging out in a weird spot the other day, and I found that he ate my smallest damsel! Not really sure when it happened, but I can't find any other explanation for my missing fish!!
