Killing GSP

Anyone have any ideas on killing green star polyps? A few months ago it took over a quarter of my tank so i decided to demolish my rock work to remove the rocks and get a metal brush and scrub it off. Low and behold it has now started growing back on some of the rocks. Is there something I can put on it to kill it that won't effect my tank?

you might price what this stuff sells for
might be surprised - may have made more money selling it off then the LR itself is worth!

star polyps and mushrooms/xenia
seem to be corals that people either end up regretting ever adding to their systems or end up hating wanting to know how to kill it off.

Why on earth would you want to Kill off a coral??????? Most of us would LOVE to have coral thriving in out tanks and Wouldn't dream of "taking a wire brush to it" Dude just frag it and sell the frags if you don't like it but jeez don't destroy it!!!!!!!! Enough of are natural reefs are destroyed every day!

One of our LFS's had golf ball sized frags of GSP in a tank with frags that they were selling at 2 for $30. It looked like someone took a small sledge to a chunk of LR that got over run. It seemed like a ot of money for small chuncks of GSP, but it was gone within 2 weeks.

Same thing Vinnie said. Frag it. ALso, do you hate the way it looks, or are just afraid it will take over again? If it is the later, then place rubble around where it is growing, when it spreads out to far for your liking, cut it away and try to sell/give away to other reefers or LFS. Don't kill it, its not aiptasia

If you have some get on a structural rock, move that rock out onto the sand, separate of everything else. You can use a thumbnail to kind of peel it off glass. And if you're getting really good growth it's, as they say above, popular: set a rock on it and when it takes that rock, tear it loose and sell it. You could keep yourself in fishfood with that stuff.
