Killing xenia

I've recently set up a 30 gallon long and will be transfering the contents of my current 10 gallon. I have xenia on a couple rocks, which I like, small rocks easily contained. But, I have some on a larger rock which I'd like to get rid of. I have some extra live rock "cooking" in a 5 gallon bucket for the new tank. If I put the infected rock in the bucket would almost total darkness kill the xenia? If so, would it have any ill effects on the rock I've got cooking?

Mine move off pretty cleanly if I put them in a low light area. Once they start moving I just place another rock in it's way until it completely comes off the original rock. Faster solution is to use a wood chisle to chip away at the rock at the base.

Just pull the PX out of the tank

sell all your rock its on with a LFS or something and get new rock, im sure they would trade for a rock covered in xenia

I forgot all about this thread but thanks. I tried to scrape a bunch of it off but didn't get it all and i guess some small pieces came dislodged. I'm seeing new stuff popping up. I do have a little gsp confined to one rock, which I like, but am probably going to get a fluke tab at some point.
