I bought a Tunze Stream 6080 probably like 6 months ago and after only 3 months or so It siezed up and no longer works :(

Major bummer since I really liked it a lot . I was just gonna forget about it but was curious if this a problem common to these pumps or no? I bought it online so I don;t know for sure where to even send it if i want it fixed (if it is under warranty)

I prolly should have posted sooner but was kinda bummed about the whole thing .... that kinda a lot o expense for 3 months o service and wasn't sure if i even wanted to bother w/it.

OK, this is kind of an odd post as the manual clearly says it has a 2year warranty and of course it would be repaired if you sent it in. The pump seized as a result of lime precipitation in the drive unit unless you ran it on a wavemaker in which case the drive unit was destroyed and is not covered by warranty but it still can be repaired. If you send it in I will do my best to get it repaired but leaving it sitting for three months was not the most conduscive to a quick repair as now the lime is hardened into a rock and if it was left plugged in for more than a few days in this condition it is possible that the thermastatic switch has failed. Stream pumps have tight tolerances and if you have excessive levels of Calcium or KH this will happen- you need to clean the pumps every 3 months and keep you calcium and KH in appropriate levels around 12 and 400. I really have a hard time believing someone would drop $170 and not say something about a pump failing within 3 months so if this is for real and was not a result of something deliberate send it to
